Each month the teachers at Franklin Forest elementary school choose one Fabulous Falcon to represent their homeroom. The students that are chosen are always respectful, responsible, and safe at school.  Being respectful, responsible, and safe is part of our PBIS expectations at FFE.

02/22/2017: Rotary Club Luncheon Shines on the 2017 Troup County STAR Students and Teachers STAR Student Winner Seungiu Lee with Parents

Five students and teachers were honored during the 2017 Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) luncheon hosted by the Rotary Club. Before the event ended, Seungju (Jason) Lee from LaGrange High School was named Troup County STAR Student.

For the past 58 years, a top academic senior in each participating Georgia high school is named the STAR student for that high school. Created to focus public attention on Georgia’s outstanding students and teachers, this program showcases the academic achievement of students and a chosen educator who was instrumental in their development.

2/17/17: Dr. Pugh Visits Troup High with the Celebration Cart THS Collage Celebration Cart

On Friday, teachers at Troup High School were surprised when the Celebration Cart wheeled through the halls before the President's Day holiday. Dr. Cole Pugh, Supt. of TCSS, along with Cabinet members stopped by to recognize every school employee while giving them bags of snacks and drinks. 

This is one of the awesome ways TCSS shows appreciation to employees while saying, 'Thanks for all you do!'  

02/21/17: TCSS Announces Teacher of the Year Finalists! TOTY Finalists

Last week, TCSS Superintendent Dr. Cole Pugh surprised three teachers during the annual Teacher of the Year Surprise Patrol. During this time, the three Teacher of the Year (TOTY) finalists learned they made it to the next local round of competition.

The three division finalists are:

  • Michal Bush: 4th Grade English/Language Arts at Hollis Hand Elementary
  • Marie Curtis: 6th – 8th Exceptional Education at Callaway Middle School
  • Kayla Yeargin: 9th Accelerated Algebra at Troup High School

LHS Basketball Team Visits FFE

Franklin Forest Elementary School received a rare treat today. The Lagrange High School girls and boys basketball teams came to FFE so that the students and staff at FFE could show their support to the basketball teams as they prepare for the state playoffs. The basketball team went around and visited with students, they were recognized on the morning broadcast, and they were provided breakfast. The students and staff at FFE wish the LHS teams the best of luck as they prepare for the playoffs.

CSU Visits FFE



Franklin Forest students were taken to the land of the Giants this past week when Columbus State University Theatrical Department visited. CSU students interacted with Franklin Forest students in their performance of, "Jack and the Beanstalk". 

02/07/2017: Parent Workshop: ABLE Act and Guardianship in Georgia Parent Meeting

At the next Exceptional Education seminar, attendees will find out more information about guardianship and obtaining guardianship for a person with a disability. In addition, The Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) will be highlighted. The ABLE Act of Georgia allows families to save a limited amount of money for disability related expenses without impacting Medicaid or SSI. Come and learn how to set up an account.

02/02/2017: Substitute Teacher Training Substitute Teacher Training

Any retired teacher who would like to become substitute teacher can now apply on-line until February 20. 

Substitute Workshop Date

March 1, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 1:30 pm 

Location: Administrative Services Center - Board Room

*Before leaving the workshop applicants will schedule a date for fingerprinting. A $45.00 money order is required for fingerprinting.

NBA Winners


Franklin Forest would like to encourage all students to be at school and be on time EVERY day.

For the month of August, students that achieved the NBA (Never Been Absent) goal were put into a drawing. Our NBA winners for the month of August were Bre’Anna Hall and Marreydionce Askew. The winners and their parents received a Walmart gift card.

We would like to give a Huge shout out to Fryer’s Tires for sponsoring the month of August NBA.
