09/19/18: TCSS Graduation Rates Rise



This year, TCSS saw a lift in graduation rates - over six percentage points from 2017. In addition, we witnessed a rise in student sub-group graduation rates such as economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, black, and multi-racial students. Altogether, 84.1% of students who entered 9th grade in the fall of 2014 earned their high school diploma in 2018.

Book Fair!

The Book Fair is coming to Long Cane!

Be on the lookout for book fair information that will be coming home in student's Tuesday folders.  The Book Fair will be open in the media center at LCE on Wednesday ,September 26 through Friday, September 28th.  The fair will also be open during Goodies with Grandparents on Thursday, September 27th from 4:00-5:30.  


LaGrange Reads at LaGrange Mall LaGrange Reads Spirit Night Voucher

Come to the LaGrange Mall and celebrate the power of Reading!  LaGrange READS Spirit Nights will be held September 25th through September 27th at the LaGrange Mall.  Students and parents can attend the night that works best for them.  There will be fun reading games and prizes.  Please turn in your Spirit Night Voucher (sent home in student's Tuesday folders) at the event.  For every student that attends and turns in their voucher, the school's library will earn $1.

Goodies with Grandparents Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:00-5:30 Goodies with Grandparents

Goodies with Grandparents will be held at LCE on Thursday, September 27th from 4:00-5:30pm.  Activities will held including cookie decorating, board games, and crafts.  Book Fair will be open in the media center!

We hope to see you and your Long Cane Leopard grandchild for an afternoon of fun!

The flu can be very dangerous for children. Each year about 20,000 children younger than five are hospitalized from flu complications, like pneumonia.
