03/15/19: Normandy Documentary to be Debuted at Troup High evelyn

When: March 28 @ 6:30 pm

What: Sacrifice Is... Documentary and Panel Discussion

Where: Troup High Auditorium

Last year, Evelyn Johnson went on a journey that started in her high school history class at Troup High School. She was researching scholarships for college and happened on the Normandy Sacrifice for Freedom Albert H. Small honor that places a spotlight on veterans who perished on D-Day. She applied for the scholarship and won. Over the past year, she visited Washington, D.C. and Normandy, France – the site of the event.

“I was able to experience the places that I have read about since I was six. Now, I have the opportunity to develop a project along with it,” Johnson said of the experience.

Band Rates Superior

The LHS Band played at the Georgia Music Educators Large Group Performance Evaluation Friday, March 8 and rated Superior, the highest rating possible, in Stage Performance and Sight Reading. This marks 10 years of consecutive Superior Ratings for the Concert Band.

TCSS Opens Budget Email for Community Questions - Closes April 10th budgetg

Troup County School System (TCSS) is currently preparing Performance Based Budgets for Fiscal Year 2020. For the last few years, the community has given suggestions and asked relevant budget-related questions via email during this process. We would like to continue this practice.

Beginning now, community members can send budget inquires and suggestions to budgetquestions@troup.org to inquire about the TCSS FY2020 budget. Responses will be posted on troup.org within 5-7 business days.

The email address will remain open until Wednesday, April 10th.

Gym Construction Starting - Highland Ave. Closing

Ltr   Construction on the New Athletic Facility begins next week. Highland Avenue will be temporarily closed. This will affect traffic around the school including pickups and drop-offs. Please read this letter from Mr. White about construction and traffic.on.
02/22/19: SLAM Camp Applications slam

Applications to the Students Learning About Manufacturing (SLAM) Camp are now available. The camp is June 10 - 14 from 8 am - 4 pm. Parents must provide transportation to and from SLAM. During this interactive camp, students will build robots, tour local industries, compete in robot competitions and work in a team environment. Thanks to our sponsoring organizations:
