Mrs. Kimberlee Patton, 3rd Grade Math & Science Teacher, was selected as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year! She has been recognized by her school for classroom and civic excellence. We are very proud of you!!! Mrs. Patton began her teaching career at Callaway Elementary seven years ago. She taught second grade for five years and currently teaches third grade. She earned her Masters degree (MAT) in teaching from LaGrange College in 2010. She attended Georgia Southern University and received a Bachelor Degree in Communication Arts. Mrs. Patton currently serves as the sponsor of the recycling club and teaches her students to care about each other and our planet. Mrs. Patton’s teaching philosophy is very simple - students do not care how much you know until they know how much you care. She shows her students how much she cares by forming relationships and making her lessons relevant to their lives. She feels it is critical to create real world connections in the classroom while producing a student-centered learning environment. “If they know how much you care, they want to perform for you. If students do not believe they will use classroom material in their future, they see lessons as insignificant and not worth their time.“ Mrs. Patton is married to Chris Patton and they have 3 children. Their oldest son , Nathan, is a student at Georgia College and State University and their twin daughters, Maddie and Catherine, are seniors at LaGrange High.
