Certified Job Applications

Once you have applied for a position, your application will be reviewed by an administrator. You will be contacted if you are considered for an interview. In order to be considered for any teaching vacancy you are required to have passed the GACE content assessment tests in the field(s) for the vacancy in which you are applying.
If interviewed for a certified teaching position you will need to provide at least three complete references. Please send the following Reference Form to be completed by your references and returned to the Principal/Administrator requesting the interview. The forms need to be returned via e-mail to that Principal/administrator.

The Troup County School System employs several different categories of non-certified employees: Paraprofessionals, Clerical, School Nurse, Maintenance, Custodial, Technology, Bus Driver, Bus Monitor and Food Service. To view non-certified vacancies, please go to www.applitrack.com/troup/onlineapp/

Paraprofessionals are required to have at least 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college; or have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment tests. For a testing schedule and location please go to www.gace.ets.org. Documentation must be submitted to Human Resources before you can be hired for a paraprofessional position.
School Nurses are required to hold a current Georgia LPN or RN License.
Bus Drivers must hold a CDL Driver's License or complete CDL training offered by the school system.
Substitute Teachers are required to attend a four hour state mandated workshop. Please check the Applitrack link for future workshop dates.
Other Positions may require addtional training or certification dependent upon the actual duties required. The requirements will be listed in the job desciption when posted.
A $45.00 fee is due from the employee upon recommendation for hire to complete the criminal background check through fingerprints submitted to the GBI/FBI. It is payable to Troup County Schools by money order only.
All employees are recommended for hire contingent on passing a Criminal Background Check through the GBI/FBI. Failure to disclose any prior arrest will automatically disqualify the applicant from employment.
