During the Troup County Board Meeting held on October 20th, Board Member Sheila Rowe presented the ring to Ms. Slay. Congratulations to Ms. Slay, and we wish her great success in the Georgia Teacher of the Year competition.
Mr. Joel Keith, Chairman of the Diverse Power Foundation Board
presented the 2011 Diverse Power grants to several of Troup County
schools. Diverse Power utilizes the Operation Round Up program to
gather voluntary contributions from participating member-consumers
by “rounding up” their monthly power bill to the next dollar. The
difference supports education. The average donation is $6 per year

a diverse group of speakers and participated in a walking tour of
downtown LaGrange to visit a variety of local small businesses.
Troup County students, faculty, and staff had an opportunity to receive the seasonal flu vaccine using FluMist, a nasal mist with no needles. The school vaccination program is designed to provide an easy and affordable way for students and staff members to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. A clinic was set up in each participating Troup County school on scheduled days in late September and early October to provide screening and immunizations. Vaccines are given by District 4 Public Health medical professionals.
