At the May meeting of the Troup County Board of Education, two experienced leaders in the school system were named to fill administrative positions for the new school year. Ernest Ward has been named principal of Gardner Newman Middle School. Kim Warner has been named Director of Title I. |

Over 500 graduating seniors from Troup County School System have a special distinction to add to college applications and job resumes this year. As part of the Georgia Work Ready program, community members are being asked to participate in a voluntary assessment designed to measure problem solving skills needed in the 21st Century workplace. Every senior was given the opportunity to take the test and 90 percent did. The results showed that 91 percent of Troup County student test takers are work ready. |

As seniors in Troup County are preparing to accept their diplomas, juniors across the system are reviewing the results of the test that will help them reach this goal. Results of the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT), administered to eleventh graders in March, were reported late last week. |
