At the November 15th meeting of the Troup County Board of Education, several administrative positions were filled. Charity Hanner has been named Instructional Specialist at Callaway Elementary School. Ms. Hanner has been employed at Gardner Newman Middle School since 2002. There she has taught 6th grade Math, Social Studies and Career Exploration. She has also taught elementary grades with Roanoke City Schools in Alabama. A graduate of Auburn University, Ms. Hanner earned a Master’s Degree and a Specialist Degree from Columbus State University. She is currently enrolled at Auburn University, where she is working towards a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. She will begin her new job in July, 2008. Cindy Kemp, currently a teacher at West Side Magnet School, has been named the Instructional Specialist at Mountville Elementary School. She is a former teacher at Whitesville Road Elementary and Berta Weathersbee Elementary. She is a graduate of Columbus State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood. She also holds a Master’s Degree and a Specialist Degree from Troy University. Ms. Kemp will begin her job in January 2008. Ken Sealy has been appointed to the position of CTAE (Career, Technology, Agriculture Education) Administrative Intern. He joined the Troup County School System in 2002 at LaGrange High School, where he teaches Social Science. Ken will assume his new role beginning in January 2008. |
