04/13/21: Supt. Richard Woods Visits CES booklet

Recently, State School Superintendent Richard Woods made a special trip to Troup County to visit Callaway Elementary School fourth grade classrooms. He handed out mini booklets of the Constitution to each student along the way.

The students were excited to receive their signed copy before asking him questions about his cat, Mittens, and about what he actually does as the State School Superintendent. “Well, I go around to schools all across the state of Georgia and talk to different kids,” Woods said. He related his job to the students and they enjoyed finding out about how he makes decisions for students.

04/12/21: LHS Ag Students Take Book Barn to EKES Book Barn

Several LHS Ag. students took their roving Book Barn to EKES Kindergarten students. They read to the early learning kids and then were able to get one copy of the book.

04/09/21: TCSS Announces Virtual Learning Day April 23, 2021 virtual learning

TCSS announced the approval of a virtual learning day as over 600 employees prepare for the second round of the Moderna vaccination. The virtual learning day is Friday, April 23, 2021.

Dr. Brian Shumate, TCSS Superintendent stated, “Thanks to the Department of Public Health for working with us to find the best day to administer the vaccine as they continue using our facilities for community vaccinations. This is once again a massive undertaking and our school nurses are partnering to assist in the process.”

04/13/21: Troup High Students Collide with Eggs Egg Drop

Dr. Lassetter's classes at Troup High School conducted an experiment on collisions. The students were tasked with building a vehicle to protect an egg as it dropped from a height of over 12 feet. The students used their knowledge of momentum and energy in the construction process.

04/08/21: CIS Hosts Food Distribution @ Old Whitesville Rd. Elem. Location CIS

Thank you to Communities and Schools for providing another food distribution event: Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the former Whitesville Rd. Elem. School location from 10:00 am until all the boxes are distributed.
