Originally from Atlanta, I earned a Bachelor of Science, in Secondary Social Studies Education (BSEd) at Georgia State University in 1994. I went on to enter the Masters of Education degree (MEd) program in 1997. Later that year I left the univesirty to pursue teaching opportuities abroad. I spent four years teaching in western Canada, then in 2001 began teaching ESOL in Seoul, South Korea, where I spent four years working with students from PreK-12. I returned to the United States in 2005, and spent ten years in the Los Angeles Unified School District, in Los Angeles, California where I taught 8th grade American History, and adult ESOL. I returned to Georgia after almost twenty years. In August of 2015, I joined the faculty of Gardner Newman Middle School. I spent two years teaching seventh grade World Studies and am currently in my 5th year teaching 8th Grade Georgia Studies.
