Berta Weathersbee Elementary School recently honored veterans with a Veteran's Day program and special lunch. In addition to several guest speakers including Dr. Connor Smith, a local veteran, attendees were treated to performances by the Berta school chorus, the Troup High School chorus and the step team. The color guard from Troup High presented the flags and Darla Clark, a teacher at the school, performed a solo. Several students also read poems.

Pictured are the several of the veterans in attendance along with Willie Cooks, Berta Weathersbee principal and and his wife Pashion Cooks (front row), who are both also veterans.
