• School Closings/Delays:

Dear Troup County School System Community,

Governor Brian Kemp just issued an Executive Order mandating all schools in Georgia will remain closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the school year. This includes TCSS.

Please note that current grade calculations will be based upon student mastery of material covered through March 12, 2020 which was the end of the third nine weeks grading period. Student learning will continue after our scheduled Spring Break. We don’t want our kids to lose the valuable knowledge and skills they have gained this school year. Teachers will be contacting their students and working with them to ensure additional opportunities are available for students to demonstrate mastery of previously covered material. More details will be available the week of April 13th.

At this time, we do not have any further updates. We know there are academic milestones and other events that our students and families were looking forward to this year. As updates are available, we will share them.

Over the past several weeks, our commitment to the students and the families of TCSS has been paramount. We will continue this commitment through the closure. Together, we will all get through this.

    Thank you,
    TCSS

Close alert

School Will Resume Monday, April 13th

School Closed

On March 23rd, Governor Brian Kemp issued an announcement stating that any gatherings over 10 people are prohibited until April 6th. In compliance with this directive, TCSS will extend the cancellation of school through April 3rd.

  • Spring Break will occur as scheduled April 6th – April 10th
  • School will resume Monday, April 13th

As part of our support to students and families during this extended cancellation, TCSS will continue providing meal distribution services at nine school locations and various bus stops throughout the county. Meal distribution services will occur as scheduled until April 3rd

Teachers are working with students and families by creating student learning resources that are available online or in printed packets. They are working remotely, and are available via email, to best support students and provide continuous learning opportunities. As we are now in Phase II of our curriculum resource offerings for students, please access the resources online at troup.org or pick up a printed copy from any meal distribution location throughout the district.
