Under the leadership of Executive Director Amy Thornton, this department oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs, policies, and services that support student achievement, positive school culture, compliance, and data-informed decision-making.

While classrooms focus on daily instruction, Student Success and Accountability works districtwide to ensure that every school remains safe, every program remains effective, and every student is supported from enrollment to graduation. 

• Clearing the Path to Graduation: We look closely at the factors that keep students engaged and in school—like regular attendance, smooth transitions between school levels, and early intervention when a student begins to struggle. From alternative education programming to dropout prevention, we are here to build a steady bridge for students from their very first day of enrollment all the way to the graduation stage.

• Fostering Safe, Positive School Cultures: We guide our schools in using proactive, evidence-based frameworks like PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and restorative practices. Instead of just reacting to behavioral issues, we focus on prevention, teaching positive behavioral expectations, and repairing relationships so our school environments remain welcoming and focused on learning.

• Accountability & Data: To know if we are truly serving our students well, we have to honestly measure our progress. Our team oversees all state and federal testing, manages our student information systems, and monitors district-wide metrics like graduation rates and school climate indicators. We ensure strict compliance with the Georgia Department of Education regulations, keeping our district transparent, fiscally responsible, and legally sound.
