What is CTAE (Career, Technical & Agricultural Education)?

Our program is led by CTAE Director Dr. Jennifer Pike and supported by dedicated CTAE Coordinators in every high school. Having coordinators on site ensures that students receive personalized guidance at every stage—helping them navigate career clusters, fulfill pathway requirements, earn industry credentials, and transition smoothly into post-secondary education or the workforce.

Pillars of the TCSS CTAE Experience

• Paxton/Patterson Career & STEM Labs: Early exposure matters. Middle school students engage in module-based, hands-on learning in fields like engineering, healthcare, and robotics using industry-standard equipment.

• Nationally Ranked Greenpower Racing: Expanding across all TCSS schools, our Greenpower USA electric vehicle racing teams give students real-world engineering experience—designing, building, and racing single-seater electric cars while mastering aerodynamics, telemetry, and team strategy.

• Work-Based Learning (WBL) & Youth Apprenticeships: High school juniors and seniors gain a competitive edge through paid internships and on-the-job training with regional business and healthcare leaders like WellStar West Georgia.

• State-of-the-Art Facilities & Academies: From specialized instruction at THINC College & Career Academy to joint hands-on learning at the Troup County Agriculture Education Center, our students learn in environments built for modern industry standards.

Our success is defined by our students. We proudly celebrate Clary Ann Adcock from LaGrange High School, named WBL Student of the Year for the state of Georgia for her exceptional academic dedication, technical achievement, and leadership within the district.
