The award-winning TCSS Communications Department manages all system-level messaging, ensuring that both internal and external stakeholders stay informed and engaged.
The department’s work goes far beyond standard announcements. A core responsibility involves providing direct strategic and crisis communication counsel to Cabinet-level members and building administrators. When complex situations arise, the communications team works alongside district leadership to ensure information is shared with clarity, speed, and accuracy.
Covering an entire school district requires an efficient operation. The department relies on a dedicated three-person staff to capture information across various locations and provide continuous communication support:
Major Programs and Community Events
In addition to daily digital media management, the department plans and hosts major in-person special events and recognition ceremonies that bring the community together. Key programs and responsibilities include:
-
Recognition & Rewards: Managing the Teacher of the Year and Employee Retirement programs.
-
Community Engagement: Coordinating Partners in Education initiatives, annual meetings, and the district-wide Webmasters network.
-
Information & Compliance: Handling daily media requests and processing Open Records Requests.
-
District Publications: Creating and distributing critical system-wide materials, including academic calendars, brochures, and strategic planning documents.
