Five Troup County Schools Earn Prestigious State Title I Recognition
Five Troup County School System (TCSS) schools have earned statewide recognition from the Georgia Department of Education for exceptional academic performance and progress.
Hillcrest Elementary School, Rosemont Elementary School, and Hollis Hand Elementary School have been named 2026 Title I Distinguished Schools, while Berta Weathersbee Elementary School and Hogansville Elementary School have been named 2026 Title I Reward Schools.
Three Schools Named Title I Distinguished Schools
The Title I Distinguished Schools designation recognizes schools among the top 5% of Georgia’s Title I schools for overall performance, based on combined English Language Arts (ELA) and Math scores from the FY25 school year.
Hillcrest Elementary, Rosemont Elementary, and Hollis Hand Elementary are among only 85 schools statewide receiving the 2026 Distinguished School designation.
Two Schools Named Title I Reward Schools
Berta Weathersbee Elementary School and Hogansville Elementary School have been recognized as Title I Reward Schools. Reward Schools represent the top 5% of Title I schools in Georgia making the most progress in improving the performance of all students. The designation is based on comparing content mastery scores from the two most recent years of reported statewide assessment data.
Berta Weathersbee and Hogansville are among 86 schools statewide named to the 2026 Reward Schools list.
Having five TCSS schools earn state Title I recognition in the same year highlights the district’s continued focus on both high levels of student achievement and meaningful academic growth.
“We are incredibly proud to have five Troup County schools recognized among Georgia’s highest-performing and highest-progressing Title I schools,” said Mandi Pike, Federal Programs Director. “These honors speak to both academic excellence and continued growth, and they reflect the dedication of our students, teachers, school leaders, staff, and families. Seeing our schools recognized at the state level is a wonderful affirmation of the work happening in our classrooms every day.
We congratulate each of these school communities and appreciate their commitment to ensuring every student has opportunities to succeed.”
