GNMS Principal Selected for International Nobel Prize Teacher Summit
December 3, 2025
LaGrange, Ga - We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kelley Adams, Principal of Gardner Newman Middle School, has been selected to participate in the Nobel Prize Teacher Summit in Stockholm, Sweden, scheduled for March 2026. This is a significant professional honor, as she is one of only two educators from the entire state of Georgia selected for this experience.
Dr. Adams said, "I am truly honored and excited to receive this scholarship and deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow professionally. This scholarship will allow me to learn from renowned experts, engage in global conversations, and bring back valuable insights to enhance the work we are doing in Troup County."
The Nobel Prize Teacher Summit is an international event hosted by the Nobel Prize Museum. It is distinct from other educational conferences because it connects teachers directly with Nobel Prize laureates, leading scientists, and scholars.
The initiative is built on the Nobel Prize's legacy of inspiring people to seek knowledge, ask difficult questions, and attempt to understand the world around them.
During the summit, Dr. Adams will join colleagues from around the globe—from preschool teachers in Sweden to physics instructors in Great Britain—to discuss the art and science of teaching. The program features lectures, panel discussions, and collegial dialogue designed to be intellectually challenging and inspiring.
"TCSS is committed to expanding our impact. An international study is a huge component of this work. I commend Dr. Adams for demonstrating her commitment to lifelong learning and bringing the world to our students. This is very exciting for our school system," said Dr. Rachel Hazel.
The conversations will focus on how educators can navigate complex topics in the classroom and the vital role teachers play in shaping the future. As the organizers state, "Without excellent teachers, there are no new Nobel Prize laureates."
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Kelley Adams on this well-deserved recognition.
