Troup County School System Announces Historic 93.5% Graduation Rate
September 29, 2025

LaGrange, Ga. - The Troup County School System (TCSS) announces today a historic achievement, reaching an all-time high graduation rate of 93.5% for the 2025 academic year. This remarkable accomplishment represents an 8- point increase from the 2024 rate of 85.8% and places the district 6.3 above Georgia's graduation rate of 87.2%.

This significant milestone reflects the graduation of 856 students across the district's three high schools, each of which posted impressive gains. The results showcase the focused efforts of students, the dedication of faculty and staff, and the unwavering support of the entire community. This achievement also reflects the system's new tagline: Our Schools, Our Community, Our Future.

"This is monumental," said Dr. Rachel Hazel, TCSS Superintendent. "A 93.5% graduation rate is a direct reflection of our system-wide commitment to student success. From our teachers and administrators to our support staff and community partners, everyone has played a role in creating an environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential. We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2025."

School-Level Success:

All three TCSS high schools demonstrated significant progress, with two schools surpassing the 94% mark.

  • Callaway High School achieved a graduation rate of 93.8%, graduating 211 students. This continues a steady climb from 91.8% in 2024 and 89.4% in 2023.
  • Troup High School currently has the highest graduation rate of 94.2% with 309 graduates. This is a jump from 86.0% in 2024 and 88.2% in 2023.
  • LaGrange High School saw the most dramatic increase, soaring to 94.1% with 336 graduates. This is a nearly 12-point leap from 82.4% in 2024 and a significant improvement from 83.0% in 2023.

How Georgia calculates its graduation rate
Georgia calculates a four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate as required by federal law. This rate is:

  • The number of students who graduate in four years with a regular high school diploma, divided by
  • The number of students who form the adjusted cohort for the graduating class

Adjusted Cohort Definition: From the beginning of ninth grade, students entering that grade form a cohort that is subsequently adjusted by adding any students who transfer into the cohort during the next three years and subtracting any students who transfer out.
