Trackmobile Named Title Sponsor of GreenpowerUSA Race

GreenpowerTroup, the GreenpowerUSA program of the Troup County School System, is proud to announce that Trackmobile, a Marmon Rail
Company, has been named the title sponsor of the Trackmobile 400, a GreenpowerUSA endurance racing event scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026, at LaGrange College.

The Trackmobile 400 will bring middle school and high school GreenpowerUSA teams from across the United States to LaGrange for a day of electric vehicle racing, engineering, teamwork, and STEM competition. Admission to the event will be free to the public.

Trackmobile's sponsorship will help GreenpowerTroup host an event that showcases student engineering and gives young people the opportunity to compete on a national stage while connecting the skills they develop through Greenpower with the manufacturing and engineering careers available in their own communities.

“Trackmobile is a tremendous partner for an event like this because there is such a natural connection between what Greenpower students are doing and the engineering, manufacturing, and technical careers that companies like Trackmobile provide,” said Matthew Graham,
Greenpower Specialist for the Troup County School System and leader of GreenpowerTroup. “We want students to understand that the skills they are developing by designing, building, troubleshooting, and racing an electric vehicle can lead to real opportunities right here in our
community. We are extremely grateful to Trackmobile for investing in these students and helping us bring teams from across the country to LaGrange.”

From Elementary School to Local Industry

The Trackmobile 400 also highlights an increasingly important local connection between K–12 STEM education, higher education, and the region's manufacturing workforce.

For students in Troup County, that pathway can begin as early as fourth grade. Through GreenpowerTroup and the Troup County School System, students have opportunities to participate in Greenpower programs at every school in the district, allowing them to begin developing hands-on engineering, manufacturing, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in elementary school and continue building on those experiences through middle and high school.

Students can then continue that pathway at LaGrange College, which offers a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology. The program was designed to create hands-on opportunities to prepare students for careers in modern manufacturing and engineering technology.

From there, students have the potential to enter the local manufacturing workforce with companies such as Trackmobile and other industries throughout the region.

“We're excited about what this event represents beyond the race itself,” Graham said. “A student in Troup County can start learning how to use a tool, solve a problem, and build an electric race car as early as fourth grade. They can continue developing those skills through middle and high school, study Manufacturing Engineering Technology at LaGrange College, and potentially go to work for a company like Trackmobile right here in LaGrange. That's the kind of pathway we want students to be able to see.”

The Trackmobile 400 will feature GreenpowerUSA F24 electric race cars competing in an endurance format designed to test vehicle performance, reliability, team strategy, and student decision-making. Teams are responsible for preparing their cars, managing drivers and pit
stops, making tactical decisions, troubleshooting problems, and keeping their vehicles running throughout the competition.

GreenpowerUSA is an international STEM education program in which students design, build, and race electric-powered vehicles. The program provides hands-on experience in engineering, manufacturing, electrical systems, teamwork, project management, communication, and problem-solving.

For GreenpowerTroup, the Trackmobile 400 represents another opportunity to establish LaGrange as a destination for high-level GreenpowerUSA competition while exposing visiting teams and local students to the educational and career opportunities available in the region.

“Greenpower racing is about much more than who crosses the finish line first,” Graham said. “Students are learning how to work as a team, solve problems under pressure, communicate, manage a project, and compete at a very high level. Events like the Trackmobile 400 give them a chance to put all of those skills to the test — and hopefully give them a glimpse of where those skills can take them in the future.”

Trackmobile's sponsorship represents an investment not only in a single racing event, but in the students, educators, and future workforce of the community.

The Trackmobile 400 will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at LaGrange College. The event will be open to the public, with no admission charge.
