Since July 1, 1997, Troup County visitors and residents have participated in the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or ESPLOST. Supporting the Education SPLOST—just one cent on every dollar spent—directly invests in the future of our children and our communities across Georgia. This small amount funds critical needs like maintaining safe, functional schools, purchasing updated technology and buses, and building new facilities to accommodate growth and replace aging buildings. It also allows for additions to existing schools that are overcrowded, ensuring students have the space and resources they need to learn. Best of all, it does this without raising property taxes.
