This year will be my 30th year of teaching in Troup County Schools. I began my journey here at Hogansville High School and came to Callaway High in 1995-96 when we opened the school for the first time. I have taught Family and Consumer Sciences all 30 years. I currently teach the Nutrition and Food Science Pathway here at Callaway. The courses include: Food Nutrition and Wellness, Food For Life, and Food Science.

The end of Pathway assessment is the ServSafe Test which will allow students to work in areas of Human Service that requires training in food safety. This certification can be used in the commmunity when applying for jobs/careers involving safety/sanitation of food preparation.

I am also the Junior Class sponsor responsible for the prom and am the sponsor for the 11th grade job shadowing. I also serve as chair for the CTAE Department which allows me to work closely with peers and administrators throughout the year on curriculum and other items to help empower the students in their learning and overall achievement.

I attended Berry College in Rome Georgia where I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Home Economics Education. I also received a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Education Specialist degree in Curiculum and Instruction at Berry College. I later attended Auburn University where I earned a Education Specialists degree in K-12 Administration. I began teaching in 1990 in Hogansville City High School and moved to Callaway High School when we opened the school in 1995/96. This year will be my  30th year teaching here in Troup county in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences.
