Welcome to the Troup County School System Nutrition Department. We are so excited to fuel your child's day with delicious, energizing meals.
Every single student in our school system eats breakfast and lunch completely free of charge. This happens through the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), a federal program. A complete meal must have at least three components, one of which is a fruit or vegetable. At lunch, students can choose up to five meal components.
Students can also buy extra items separately, such as drinks, snacks or additional entrees and side items. Any outstanding balance for previously charged meals must be cleared before students can make individual purchases, and students cannot charge extra items.
Keep an eye out for our custom TCSS Food Truck rolling onto campus for special events, bringing trendy, fun menus straight to the students!
Our mission to feed our community does not stop when the school bell rings for summer vacation. We hit the road during the summer months to provide meals at no cost to children 18 and under and they will receive 7 breakfast and 7 lunch meals.
The Troup County School System (TCSS) Nutrition Department, operated in partnership with Chartwells K12, gained national recognition by winning a USDA's Turnip the Beet! Award in 2024, which recognizes sponsors nationwide who go above and beyond to offer high-quality, appetizing, and nutritious summer meals.

School Lunch Hero Day - is celebrated annually on the first Friday in May. This day recognizes the vital role these team members play every day—nourishing students, supporting learning, and making a difference for every child who walks through the cafeteria doors.
National School Breakfast Week - is an annual campaign celebrated during the first full week of March. Sponsored by the School Nutrition Association, it highlights the importance of the federal School Breakfast Program and celebrates the cafeteria staff who provide nutritious, energizing meals to students every day.
National School Lunch Week - Held annually during the second full week of October is a week dedicated to highlighting the impact of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the critical role school meals play in a child's health, well-being, and academic success.
